Associate Attorney

Diana M. Ortiz is an associate attorney in the Monty & Ramirez immigration division. Her practice focuses on removal defense, bond hearings, general deportation defense, family-based immigration, humanitarian visas, nonimmigrant and immigrant visas, permanent residency, citizenship, and appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).

With more than seven years of experience, Diana has represented clients in a wide range of immigration matters, appearing before United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Immigration Court (EOIR), and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).

As an immigrant herself, Diana understands firsthand the challenges of adapting to a new culture and navigating the complex immigration system. Originally from Colombia, where she was already an attorney, she earned her law degree from the University of Houston and obtained her law license from the Supreme Court of Texas.

Her dedication to the immigrant community led her to Catholic Charities, the largest nonprofit organization in the Houston area, where she represented hundreds of clients and helped them achieve their goals and dreams in the United States. Diana has tirelessly advocated for vulnerable clients, ensuring they receive the humanitarian protections they deserve.

Through her work, Diana has represented individuals from Central and South America, Africa, Asia, and Europe. Diana has an impeccable reputation with the Houston Immigration Courts with judges handling detained and non- detained cases. Such reputation only comes with years of experience and ethical behavior in front of the judicial and administrative authorities.
